Wild, Wild West

I am going to Dodge City, Kansas today. Yep, home of Wyatt Earp. Smells like feed lots. I do stay in a very nice hotel there. The owner is a terrific guy who bring his dog to work with him every day. Dog's name is Wyatt. Imagine that. What makes this hotel so terrific? Well, the owner takes time to greet his guests. He talks to them. He also personally trains his staff to run the business like he wants. We could learn some things from this guy. More on that later.
Anyway, the only problem I have with this hotel is my internet service. Many times my laptop does not work there. So, if you don't see me later, you know why.

It's Monday!!

I've now had a blog for three days. I still have no idea what I am doing. I guess it will take a while to figure it all out. I'm not really a patient sort, I want to know it all NOW.

Anyone want to talk about passive income programs as a business opportunity? I do. I am more and more liking these as a decent way to make money. Of course, it is not nearly as FUN and thus will not appeal to the afore mentioned types of online marketers. I've got one that is REALLY working well for me. Just joined another. You can see them listed on the right. Both these pups have good reputations. As I just joined GNI, I can't say that I have made money yet, but I anticipate it from all I've heard. I hope to find some other stable ones as well. I know, I know...hard to really know that.
So why don't more people join these? Probably because they have been burned in the past from various hyips and surfs. Gotta pick carefully and invest prudently. As for them being passive? Well, they can be if you want. But referral money is certainly a nice perk in these programs. Here is what I suggest: Give a small spend in some of the well thought of "passive" programs. Then go about promoting them through various safe lists and traffic programs. Post in forums about the program. Make absolutely SURE that you have your signature set up in the forums you visit. People who are impressed with what you say will be curious about the businesses you are in.
Do NOT go crazy with these types of programs. You need to invest wisely. Listen to what your fellow marketers have to say. You will learn a ton and soon be an expert yourself. Getting your seed money out as soon as possible is always smart too. Doesn't hurt quite so bad if the business goes under that way.

Ok, I am off and running. Lot's to do today.

A Quiet Sunday!

OK, I'm back. Did my nails, cleaned house a bit. Now if I can get my finger unstuck from the keyboard(yes, nail glue), I should try and post something profound. Spent some of the day online looking around. And of course reviewing forum posts. I have come to the conclusion, it is not the programs that fail, it is the marketer. I mean, what's the program owner going to do when the money stops coming in?? People are quick to scream scam when a program ceases to be productive. WOW. And there are some pretty cool opportunities out there. See, I think I am proving my original theory. The magic is gone, the adrenaline rush is over. POOF.

So what's the answer? I dunno. I come up with it, I will surely pass it along. As long as we are in it to have fun! Thoughts? Rants? Anyone figure out why this blog is titled Fortune Cookies? Eh?

Anyone looking at The Advertising Gold Mine? Due to launch here soon. I imagine it will join my fun program list.

In other news, I bought a new Janet Evanovich book today. Can't wait to get started on it. Her books keep me laughing out loud. Gotta laugh. It's good for the soul.

Another day, another post

Ok, so.I read my first post over. Sounds pretty cynical, huh? There ARE people who want to make serious money online. I know that, you know that. I mean, who wouldn't? I just think there are also those who enjoy the game part even more than the money part. They got to, or they would do it differently. Much differently. I've got a couple of programs that make me consistent money. I also have some just fun ones. Sometimes it's a hit, sometimes it's a miss. Still fun though....I guess everyone has to look within themselves and determine why it is that they do this. Do you really want to make money? Or are you just waiting for that one great time you get in at the top and reap the temporary rewards? If that's your aim, good luck. You gotta know the right people. If you really DO want to make money, put some thought into it and post here. Let's see what shakes out.

So, I guess when you blog, you need to have something clever to say every day. That may be a problem. On the best of days, I get about one bright idea out. I'll probably need to come back later as I have nothing insightful to say yet.

First post

Well hell. Everyone keeps telling me I should create a blog. I like to talk, so maybe they have a point. What to talk about is another story. Many things interest me, but hey, I think I'll start out with one about online money making. Anyone know what that is? I am a marketing forum owner, so I sure see a lot of people who THINK they know what that is. Sad thing is, most people are just spinning their wheels. I've been there, YOU"VE been there. BUT, I think I have it figured out. Most of the people I see aren't so much focused on actually making money...they want to win, they want the adreneline rush of a new launch, they love the excitement. It's all I can figure...because the minute the rush is over, they move on. So maybe this blog will be about the pathology of marketing. Hey, I'm guilty of it. Let's face it, it's FUN! So maybe we just acknowledge the things we love about this business and forget the money. Sure, it's a nice perk. It's also how you determine if you won or not. So, I think I'll call my little blog the Fortune Cookie. It fits in my mind. Let me know if you figure out why!
