Life and Slippery Chickens

The following is a true story.

So I was walking through the grocery store, doing my weekly shopping. I spy the roast chickens. You know..the ones the stores cook and sell. Very yummy. It is a whole chicken and they are packaged in a bag. I pick one out and begin to carry it to my cart that was several feet away. Ok, so I must not have had a good grip on it because the chicken goes shooting out the open end of the bag. It flew out of my hands, landed on the floor and skidded another several feet. It left a glorious streak of grease in its wake. Everyone stares. Most people laugh. It was kinda embarrassing. Then what to do? Well, I picked the chicken, now no longer in very good shape, and stuff it back into the bag. I took it to the checkout stand and calmly explained that they had a grease problem on aisle 21.

So you are probably wondering why I am talking about my chicken incident. Well, it dawns on me that it sort of relates to life and even the business opportunities we talk about here. How? Well, sometimes in spite of our best efforts, things just slip away from us. We either lose our grip or things just don't work out as planned. I guess the key factor then is how we react to the chicken incidents in our life. Give up? Work smarter? Jump off a cliff? I hope we can talk here about ways to work smarter as I am not the giving up sort of gal. I try to talk about things that work for ME and hope that you will feel free to do the same. Trial and error is ok, but hearing about other folk's experience speeds up the learning curve. Got it?
